What an incredible castle! Definitely worth the walk. Be aware there are three streets, that I found go to the castle. The day we went you could not enter from the Starbucks side. The church is fantastic and the sheer amount of building inside seems unreal. Be aware it does get hot on a summer day. There are a few cool Christmas shops and a cool pub that has been open since 1375 down one side of the castle.

An amazing place to visit in Prague, the castle is simply incredible to look at. There's so much to do. Before you go I'd check what time the castle is open until. We went at 3pm and we were told it was almost closing time so had to go back the next day. And it's a lot of stairs to climb to get there. The queues are very big so you will be waiting for a while to get in.

If you’ve ever been told to arrive early for anything this is the place to do it! There are way too many tour guides walking around with way to big of groups. I mean they should definitely get their money but when we went around 10am it was just way too much. It would also be great if they organized the golden lane somehow for “flow of traffic”. Everyone could use a little more tourism etiquette. Overall a nice place and is something to do to take up a little bit of time.

A huge complex of buildings make up the Prague castle, most notbly the St. Vitus Cathedral. You'll need a ticket for most of the interiors. Beside the cathedral most buildings are used for governmental purposes and cannot be entered, but some, like the former royal palace, are still open for visits. If you're interested you can certainly spend a whole day here, but I would suggest a guided tour of some kind with which you would likely spend anywhere between two and three hours exploring the complex. If you're without a guide there is also an audio guide available, but we never tried that. There's certainly tons of history to learn here, and if you're interested in architecture there's a lot to see.

This is definitely worth the visit and ticket price for entry to a number the areas. You can go and explore outside without buy a ticket. I recommend going early in the day and taking the tram 22 up the hill. Walking down is a much more leisurely.
