It's practically a shopping center of the city, where you can find many clothing stores and other things. There is a very large influx of people and there is a persistent desire to keep your bag next to you. This area is not noted for its special beauty, but it is easy to navigate.

The aerial view on Google maps is awesome. Being there - ground level, it was okay. Statues on the circumference. Lots of pigeons. I did visit the Hard Rock Cafe near there for HRC pin collection.

Plaça de Catalunya is a bustling and vibrant square in the heart of Barcelona, serving as a central hub for both locals and tourists. It's a great place to start exploring the city, with easy access to popular destinations like La Rambla and numerous shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby. The square itself is beautiful, with impressive statues, greenery, and plenty of seating areas where you can relax and take in the lively atmosphere. It's a perfect spot for people-watching and soaking up the city's energy. One downside during my visit was that the fountains were turned off, which was a bit disappointing as they add to the charm of the square. However, the overall experience was still enjoyable. Plaça de Catalunya is a must-see when visiting Barcelona, offering a snapshot of the city's dynamic spirit. Despite the fountains being off, it remains a lovely place to pass through and take in the sights.

One of the things to do:- Meet up with a tour guide, 2 hours of fascinating information and a (guided) walk in the Old Town and Gothic Quarter. Wonderful!

The paella at the top floor restaurant of El Corte Inglés at the Plaza is so yummy. We loved it. The views of the Plaza and the area around it were also amazing from the restaurant.
