A very beautiful palace which you should really visit if you have time. You can spend many hours looking at the various exhibits and courtyards and I was amazed by how much there was to see. The visit is expensive (1500TL per person) but when you consider the amount of things to see, unique views and rich history I think it's worth the price. You can also have a free audio guide if you hand over a valid ID as a deposit. I did try to use my phone but my fairly new Samsung couldn't run it without crashing. It's worth bringing your own food in as there are many places to have a picnic. We didn't take so many photos as many places did not allow but that didn't stop a lot of people. The only issue I found was that some exhibits did not control the flow of people and it became so crowded you couldn't enjoy the time but most were very good. Also if you have time the basilica cistern is close by and very good to visit also

Busy spot but makes sense since the history is super interesting and the buildings are absolutely beautiful! Takes a long time so plan for that! The gardens surrounding the Palace are calm and a nice place to hang out in afterwards 🌳

Great garden and museum that was amazing to explore. Got quite busy as the day went on and some areas were difficult to navigate with the crowds. Huge collection of ottoman era clocks, clothes, cooking items, jewellery, weaponry, calligraphy pieces, as well as many grand rooms to view. We spent about 3 hours there, also visiting the Haram, so thought it was well worth the value. Lots of beautiful views of the river and city as well.

Could spend 4 or more hours there. So much to see and learn 😊 well worth doing if your in Istanbul. We did on a tour so it was easy to enter and we got to do everything inside. Was very busy though but I feel that it would be like that every day 😊

It’s beautiful and grand. It’s so big that I believe need more than half a day just to explore it. There are no restaurants/ cafes for breaks. Make sure to take some snacks with you if you plan to take your time exploring. I have the combined ticket of main castle , harem and Hagia Irene church.
