Beautiful architecture that looks amazing for being thousands of years old. No charge to go inside. Depending when you go, could be a long wait but the lines move quick. Lots of cool Roman artifacts that don’t take too long to see. I highly recommend taking the time to see it if you are in Rome. Lots of great pizza and restaurants very close.

Worth the wait to see this incredible part of history. Leave yourself enough time to take in all the small details, history and beauty. Be aware that it is VERY congested, busy and hectic in this area and not easy to get a taxi in or out. Additionally there are a lot of street vendors who will try and sell you water, scarves, kid toys etc. Keep your head on a swivel!!!

Make sure to get a ticket in advance. It’s $5. Or free for a kid. But you still Need a ticket. The. Just walk up and they can your ticket and you walk in. No line. Otherwise the line is ridiculous. They are not strict about attire even though it’s a church. There are posted rules but they don’t seem to enforce them.

Yes, amazing building was even more incredible than the Colosseum in many ways. Still an active church and venue, the incredible history of this place is just freaky. I'm so glad that I got to see it and tour inside and learn more about what still goes on there and what the original designers were thinking about, the patterns of light, the round hole on the ceiling, etc.

There are many reduced tickets and free entry possibilities. For example for Architecture students. Make sure you’ve checked them before buying the tickets. Too many people. Too much distractions. The building is majestic.
