Cool place to visit for all your electronics, gadgets, and video game needs. Building after building of buzzing beeping and flashing games, stores packed with everything from razors to big screen tvs. Quick bite ramen places and maid cafes, Electric town is definitely a site to see. I really liked the retro gaming and toys that some of the stores had.

Electric is an understatement! This town comes alive after hours and there are so many stores to go into and spend your time in. The buzzing nightlife here is extraordinary and I had so much time just walking around and taking in all the views this place had to offer! The stores are filled with goods from electronics to anime figurines to trading cards and everything in between! Check this place out when you're in Tokyo, you won't regret it!

Woa! What a place.....cheap electronics, items you would never find anywhere else! Manga everywhere, shops filled with toys, manga costumes, items. Maid cafes so many, girls all dressed up in manga outfits on the street. Amazing! This is some other world it felt like!

Akihabara (秋葉原), also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops and has also gained recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan) culture. Many shops and establishments devoted to anime and manga are dispersed among the electronic stores in the district. On Sundays, Chuo Dori, the main street through the district, is closed to car traffic from 13:00 to 18:00 (until 17:00 from October through March). Note that some of the electronics on sale are only intended for use in Japan due to voltage and other technical differences, Japanese language documentation and limited warranties. However, several stores also feature a selection of international models intended for overseas use, and most also offer tax-free shopping to foreign tourists. Some streets may be unsafe so please try to visit only the main ones.

Interesting area in Tokyo. Worth checking out, going out of your way for? Not too sure! If you've done other parts of Tokyo that mixes anime figure shops with gaming electronics and video games, then you're pretty much in for the same. Nothing in particular REALLY stood out, But if you're in the area, then Why Not? ENJOY!
